Richard L. Daniel, Sr. Richard L. Daniel, Sr., 80, of Chillicothe, died 4:15 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2006 in the Chillicothe Veteran Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born May 14, 1925, in Ross County, to the late William L. “Shorty” and Clara M. Bailey Daniel. On May 27, 1948, he married the former Erma J. Claytor who died January 15, 1999. Surviving are daughters, Leona Lynn (Vernon) Roll, Marilyn (Roger) Cooper, Marguerite (Charles) Peters, Ursula Sue (Tom) Keller, all of Chillicothe and Yvonne Cox, of Waverly; sons, Richard L. Daniel, Jr., Tony Lee (Amie) Daniel and William L. Daniel, all of Chillicothe, Neil (Heidi) Daniel, of Adelphi and Douglas D. Daniel, of Killeen, TX; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren; a brother, David (Reva) Daniel, of Grove City; sisters, Ruth (Howard) Ross, of Fremont,OH, Ann Penwell, of Chillicothe and Norma Jean Mossbarger, of Waverly; numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Linda Gilkison; and a sister-in-law, Norma Daniel, of Waverly, special caregivers and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Candy A. Cravens; a son, Harry T. Daniel; a grandson; two great grandsons; a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Daniel; a son-in-law, William Cravens; a brother, Perry Daniel and sisters, Marion Daniel, Irene Arrowood and Jeanette Brofft. Richard was loved by all. Richard served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a retired meat cutter. He was a life member of the D.A.V. and a member of American Legion Post 757. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Gregg Zickafoose officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, with military gravesite services by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Wares from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
