Barbara Ellen Scott, 65, of Chillicothe, passed 1:55 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born February 19, 1958 in Pakersburg, WV, to the late Gary Dean and Wanda Lea Sorrell Manring.

Surviving are a son, Zachary Scott, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Haley, Sarah, Ethan, Jersey, Alyssia and Lydia; great grandchildren, Jayden and Savage'; a sister, Beth (Terry) Glatting, of Chillicothe; a brother, Gary Steven (Sylvia) Manring, of Chillicothe; nephews, Dustin (Tia) Manring, of Chillicothe James Manring, of Bremerton, WA and Samuel Glatting, of Bremerton, WA; great nephews, Colton and Landon Manring; and special friends, Deborah Sorrell, Gloria Cline, Jan Ray, John Allen and Tony and Robin Dunlap.

Barb was a 1976 graduate of Chillicothe High School and also earned her Associate Degree from Ohio University.  She retired from GE in Circleville.

The family would like to extended a special "thank you" to the staffs from Adena 3A, the Adena Cancer Center and the Adena Palliative Care Staff for the wonderful care given to Barb and compassion shown to our family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help with her funeral expenses.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with John James officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.
