Betty E. Pierce Carroll, 88, of Chillicothe, passed Friday February 15, 2024 at Traditions of Chillicothe following a brief illness.

She was born November 28, 1935 in Chillicothe to the late Earl and Stella (Kellough) Meyers. On October 31, 2023 she married Jerry Carroll who survives.

Also surviving are children, Linda (Pierce) Shoemaker, Edward (Carla Ater) Pierce, Mark (Janeve) Pierce, Glen (Debbie) Pierce, all of Chillicothe; step-children, Lisa and Steve Ater, Jeff Carroll, all of Frankfort, Pam Polen, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, LaRhonda (Rodney Jones) Shoemaker, Rekia (John DePugh) Pierce, Tracy (Julie) Shoemaker, Amanda (Jim) Bushatz, and George Pierce, all of Chillicothe; step-grandchildren, Brayden Ater, of Frankfort, Jami and Keith Kness, of Londonderry, Angie and Chad Coil, of Chillicothe; numerous great and great great grandchilderen; sister, Virginia Hines; brother, Fred Meyers; sister-in-law, Nida Meyers; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by the father of her children, Edgar Pierce; grandson, Glen Lee "Hutchie" Pierce; son-in-law, Ronald Shoemaker; brother, Donald Meyers; brother-in-law, Rod Hines.

Betty was retired from Globe Furniture and was a member of the V.F.W Post 108 auxiliary.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2024 in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Wares from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
