Obituary

Bobby Jean Uhrig, 79, of Chillicothe, passed away at 11:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.

She was born July 10, 1944, in Frakes, Kentucky, to the late James and Viola Lambdin Powers.  On February 17, 1962, she married Ronald V. Uhrig who passed away on September 25, 1994.

Surviving are daughters, Ronda (Ty) Vickers and Lisa (John Simmons) Uhrig; a grandson, Tyson (Kennedy Ramsey) Vickers; brothers, Curley (Regina) Powers, Jerry Eddie (Beverly) Powers, all of Chillicothe and Garrett (Becky) Powers, of Columbia Station, OH; sisters, Ann Powers, of Bainbridge and Sue Kepler, of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She was predeceased by her mother and step father, Viola and Jim Freed; father, James Powers; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Estel James; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Uhrig; a brother-in-law, Myrl Uhrig; and a former son-in-law, David Hess.

Bobby Jean was a member of Nipgen United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed going to Middlesboro, Kentucky, where she had a second home, to visit with family and friends.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Twin Township Cemetery, with her brother, Rev. Jerry Eddie Powers officiating.  There will be no public calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
