Carola Maria Seitz Montgomery, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Chillicothe and Richmond Dale, passed 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Kesslerwood Place in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

She was born August 20, 1927, in Germany, to the late Emil and Helena Merkert Seitz.  On April 10, 1961, she married Menifee "Pete" Montgomery who passed August 27, 2006.

Surviving are her step daughter, whom she helped raise, Lauralee A. Montgomery Voorhees and her husband, Jay, both of Indianapolis, IN and a grandson, Alexander Montgomery Voorhees, of Indianapolis, IN.

Carola was a member American Legion Post # 62, was a life member of AMVEST POST # 4, and was a member of the Ross County Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Reed Hauser officiating.   Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
