Clayton Lee Holden, 48, of Chillicothe, passed 2:32 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 in Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.

He was born December 16, 1974 in Chillicothe to the late Clayton G. Holden and Grace E. (Rowland) Bentley. On September 4, 2009 he married Janita Grace Cottrell who he loved with all his heart.

Surviving are his wife; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jamie and Bernita Cottrell, of Buckeye Lake; brothers-in-law, James Richard Angus, of Greenfield, Shawn Cottrell, of Buckeye Lake, Nathan Cottrell, of Circleville, and Brock Williamson, of Eugene, OR; and his loving dogs, Baxter, Molly, and Hazel.

Clayton was a member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ and worked for Scioto Township at Greenlawn Cemetery. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Notre Dame. He also loved his Transformers and older cartoons.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial contributions be made to the WARE FUNERAL HOME to help the family.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Minister Terry Holbert officiating. Burial will follow Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
