Clyde Ralston, 92, of Chillicothe, passed at 5:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 in Brown Memorial Home, Circleville, following an extended illness.
He was born November 25, 1931, in Ross County, to the late Martin and Carrie Miller Ralston.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Ralston, of Chillicothe; a daughter, Melynda (Todd Chaney) Ralston, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Liana Ralston, Brian Ralston, Scott Ralston, Ashley (John) Cutright, Courtney (Benjamin) Fout, Cody Ralston, Jessie Ralston, Erica Ralston, Hunter Ralston, Connor Ralston, Amber (Earl) Meade and Christopher Jenkins; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Pate, of Hamilton, OH; a brother, Richard (Jackie) Ralston, of St. Cloud, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Arthur David Ralston and Eric Kyle Ralston; brothers, William Ralston, Robert Miller and Kenneth "Dutch" Ralston; and sisters, Virginia Pfeifer, Doris Reese and Grace Hays.
Clyde was a 1949 graduate of Huntington High School. He served as an Electrician in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Sea Devil SS-400, a Sturgeon-Class attack submarine, and aboard the USS Greenlet ASR-10, a Chanticleer-Class submarine rescue ship. Clyde worked as a dedicated Union Electrician for nearly 70 years thru the I.B.E.W Local 575. He was a devoted, loving father who always put his kids and family first. After retirement, he enjoyed feeding cattle, evening dinners with his brother, "Dutch", attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and getting his coffee from the Huntsmen Market multiple times a day.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Huntington Township Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
