Rev. Dan L. Cook, 75, of Chillicothe, died 7:19 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 in the Kobacker House following a brief illness.

He was born September 26, 1948, in Greenfield, Ohio, to the late Rev. Leon and Margene Sullivan Cook. On May 10, 1996, he married the former Carolyn S. Locke who survives.

Also surviving are children, Shannon Cook, of Columbus, Michael Cook, of Chillicothe, Angelo Cook, of Fairbourn, Jessica (Preston) Dine, of Chillicothe and Katie Stewart, of Kingston; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert E. "Buddy" Cook, of Chillicothe; and a sister, Rev. Deborah Finnegan, of Columbus.  He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Carson and a brother, Pastor James A. Cook.

Dan was retired from Kenworth Trucking.  He was a member of Jefferson Avenue C.C.C.U, the Ross County Bow Hunters Association, and C.A.S.S..  Dan was a minister with the C.C.C.U. for 25 years, Samantha Friends Church for 6 years and Omega C.C.C.U. for 3 years.  He had also done ministry work at Freedom Ministries for 2 years and served with the Music Ministry, Pike Pickers, from Waverly, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 in Jefferson Avenue C.C.C.U. with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating. Friends may call at the church from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
