Obituary

David Julius Proehl, 65, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

David was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Garry Nisley Proehl and Mary Jo Haines Proehl. He was preceded in death by his father, Garry Proehl, who passed away on March 30, 2017.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to serving fellow veterans through his work with the Veterans Administration, from which he later retired.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Haines Proehl; his brothers, Doug (Angie) Proehl and Garry (Annette) Proehl; his daughters, Jennifer Lynn Beard, Bobbi Sue Proehl, Payton Ashley Bennett, and Hailey Proehl; his cherished grandchildren, Hanna, Caden, Emma, Analese, Kaius, and Hensi; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

David was a man of many passions and was known as a true outdoorsman. He loved spending time in the woods hunting mushrooms and deer sheds. David would fish late into the night and had many stories of staying up all night waiting for the perfect catch.

One of David's greatest loves was music. Whether he was listening to his favorite songs, sharing music with others, or simply enjoying the memories and emotions it brought, music was a constant source of happiness in his life. It was something he truly cherished and enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

A natural storyteller, David could captivate a room with his tales and sense of humor. He found joy in sharing his adventures and memories with family and friends, and those who knew him will remember his curious spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the stories that could keep everyone smiling for hours.

Above all else, David valued his family and treasured the time he spent with those he loved. He was incredibly proud of his daughters and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to talk about their accomplishments or share how much they meant to him. His family was his greatest joy, and his love and pride for them were evident in everything he did.

David's legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.

In accordance with David's wishes, there will be no calling hours or public viewing. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
