David A. Wood, 66, of Chillicothe, passed 8:19 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born September 11, 1956, in Ross County, to the late Melvin and Annetta Cooper Wood.  On September 11, 2021, he married Linda C. Recobs Wood who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, April (Chris) Stone, of Pace, FL and Gwendolyn Bragg, of Pace, FL; grandchildren, Allison (Tyler) Cameron, Victoria (Dartagnan) Hall, James Bragg, Jr., Natalya Bragg and Evelyn Bragg; a great grandson, Theodore Hall; 2 step daughters; 5 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brother, Kent (Christi) Wood, of Richmond Dale; a sister, Krystal (Mark) Cooper, of Chillicothe; a sister-in-law, Beth Wood, of Jackson; stepmother, Joy Wood, of Richmond Dale; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers, Kevin Wood and William Higgins; and a sister, Melody Higgins.

David attended Jefferson Avenue CCCU.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching Sci-fi movies, loved collecting comic books and was an accomplished cook.  David also enjoyed watching sports, especially Ohio State Football.

The family would like to extended a special "thank you" to the nurses at Hopeton Village for the care given to David and compassion shown to our family during this time.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Jefferson Avenue CCCU with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
