Diana L. Eblin, 71, of Chillicothe, passed at 11:48 a.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024, surrounded by her family, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 30, 1953, in Ross County, to the late Loren R. and Louann "Maw" Sims Cottrill. On September 7, 1995, she married Robert M. "Bob" Eblin who passed February 10, 2024.
Diana was a 1971 graduate of Huntington High School. She spent her days playing cards and games, scratching lottery tickets, watching Lifetime movies, helping Veterans Organizations, chatting with anyone she encountered, listening to and singing gospel music, and eating cheese cake. Diana had a loving and caring demeanor and infectious laugh. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and sister-in-law, Bonnie.
Surviving are children with former husband Keith Smith, of Chillicothe, Shawna (Brian) Detillion, of Chillicothe, Shannon (Kate) Smith, of Noblesville, IN and Brian (Mandy) Smith, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Brian T. (Brianna) Smith, Justice Detillion, Caleb Smith and Carson Smith; great grandchildren, Brian C. Smith and Brinleigh Smith; brothers, Richard (Sharon) Sims, of Chillicothe and John (Betsy) Cottrill, of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law, Bonnie Eblin, of Chillicothe; her Home Health Aide, Kat Conrad. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister Mary K. McQuirt and a brother, Stephen D. Cottrill.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staffs of Heartland Hospice and Frontier Healthcare Services for assistance with her care and also to Pastor Rick Hartley for his visits.
A private visitation and burial will be held in Mt. Carmel Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
