Obituary

Edward E. Wagner, Jr., 93, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:47 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born March 24, 1930, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Edward E. Sr. and Alma B. Willoughby Wagner.  On March 12, 1955, he married the former Norma Moss who passed on August 22, 2019.

Surviving are children, Cynthia D. Pratt, of Newton Falls, Ohio; Chris E. Wagner and Charles N. Wagner, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren Christy (Dave) Futrell, Laurie (Joe) Minshull, Rachel (Kenny) Sullinger, Michael (Sarah) Pratt, Seth (Sally) Lundgren, Luke Wagner, Matthew Wagner, Whitney (Seth) Rodgers and Abby Jo Wagner.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jane L. Morgan.

Edward was a 1948 graduate of Chillicothe High School.  He served in the United States Navy (1948 to 1952) during the Korean War.  Edward retired from the Atomic Energy Plant where he had worked from 1952 to 1992.  He had also served as a former councilman for the City of Chillicothe and was a member of the VFW Post 108, AMVETS Post 4 and American Legion Post 62.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with his daughter, Cindy Pratt, officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Pike County Honor Guard.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
