Elsie J. Schrader, 97, of Chillicothe, passed at 9:22 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the Adena Regional Medical Center unexpectedly.

She was born February 2, 1929, in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late John and Wyona Lewis O’Neal. On October 5, 1947, she married Albert D. Schrader who passed May 7, 2021.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Russell) Barnes, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Bryan (Kim) Barnes, of Chillicothe and Shelley (Jimmy) Hutton, of Chillicothe; great grandchildren, Bailey (Michael Williamson) Barnes, Brandon (Torie McVey) Barnes, Morgan (Michael Lloyd) Wilson and Justin (Macie Oates) Pinkerton; great great grandchildren, Emmaline Griesheimer, Oakliee Barnes and Maven Lloyd; a sister, Betty (Donald) Wipert, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Johnny, Earl, Robert and Thomas O’Neal.

Elsie was a member of the First Nazarene Church. She retired at Sears where she had worked for many years.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeremy Schinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday.
