Evelyn attended the First Church of God as a dedicated servant for 47 years. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Evelyn loved the Lord with her whole heart and her daily witness to those around her proved that to be so. She spoke of Him often, trusted Him through the hard seasons, praised Him for every breath & believed prayer, not only mattered but, was the foundation to everything in this life. She prayed daily for her family, friends, community & those she may not have even met. Her faith was not only something she talked about, it was something she lived each and every day.
Evelyn’s family was very precious to her. She was a daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who loved deeply & unconditionally. Her three grand babies were her pride and joy. She was so proud of them and would often speak of them to others. Her laughter and smile would light up a room when spending time with them.
After devoting many years as a wonderful mother, Evelyn became a certified teacher & home health care provider. She spent a few years sub teaching & taught in Alaska for a year. Having the heart of a servant, and upon returning from Alaska, she began to focus on caring for others and spent the next 15 years ministering and caring for many elderly & disabled individuals. However, her true passion was always teaching & telling others about the Lord. Through all her experiences over the last 47 years she faithfully & continually enjoyed teaching a wide variety of Sunday School classes, hosting numerous bible studies & going on mission trips when given the opportunity. She spent her summers attending many camp meetings and pastor fellowships with her dear friend and sister in Christ, Cheryl Mitchell. The love she had for the Lord was immeasurable & undeniable.
