G. Elaine Rinehart, 82, of Chillicothe passed 2:27 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026 at Liberty Village following an extended illness.

She was born April 8, 1943 in Ross County to the late Glendon E. and Helen L. Turner Rinehart.

Surviving are sisters, Cheryl Kutschbach, of Union, OH, Tamara (Timothy) Cottrill, of Chillicothe and Lisa (Butch) Throckmorton, of Lexington, S.C.; brother, Dean (Kay) Rinehart, of Chillicothe; nieces and nephews, Natalie (Rob) Hill, Deanne (Charles) Flickinger, Adam (Genie) Rinehart, Ryan (Beth) Cottrill, Bradley Cottrill and Michael Throckmorton; great nieces and nephews, Cristofer, Arrowyn and Shyla Rinehart, Cori, Cody and Haley Hill, Braden and Kahlan Cottrill and Brody Jones.  She was predeceased by niece, Nicole Kutschbach Jones.

Elaine was a 1961 graduate of Huntington Local School where she was the salutatorian.  Following high school, she attended Ohio University Athens where she received a degree in education.  Elaine formerly taught at Huntington and Adena Local Schools and retired from Vinton County Schools. She was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter 419.

The family would like to "Thank" Liberty Village and Adena Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Elaine during these difficult times.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Sammy Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
