Geraldine L. “Geri” Kellough, 80, of Chillicothe passed 4:54 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born February 6, 1946 in Ross County to the late Clifford and Virginia Holton Shoemaker. On February 11, 1963 she married Garry E. Kellough who survives.

Also surviving are children, Bryan (Mindy) Kellough, Tara (Alan) Bray and Joyce Mitchell, of Fort Worth, TX, a young girl she took in to love like her own; grandchildren, Jake (Amy) Kellough, Jonda (Jason) McCorkle, Johnny (Matt) Kellough, Alara Bray (Coleton), Colton Bray (Ava), Sarah Armstrong (Levi), Emily, Sidney and Aiden; great grandchildren, Destinee, Trevor and Dalton McCorkle, Kylee Kellough, Calyn Woods, Ainslee, Kase, Harper, Huxtin, Brynlee Gannon, Daxton; brother, Wayne (Tonya) Shoemaker, of Waverly; sister-in-law, Patricia Shoemaker, of Bainbridge; brother-in-law, Buddy Gragg, of Chillicothe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald (Bonnie) Kellough; sisters-in-law, Brenda Donohoe, Sharon Lytle and Flora Broughton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda (Bill) McDonald; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Gary Shoemaker and sister, Barbara Gragg.

“Geri” was a member of Camelin Hill Community Church and worked at the Adena Regional Medical Center for 32 before she retired.

Our beloved Mom/Nan was truly the glue that held our family together. She had a heart full of love and a way of bringing everyone together, always cherishing time spent surrounded by her family and friends. There was nothing she loved more than a house full of people, good food, laughter, and memories being made. She had a special love for Tennessee and Mt. Hope, places that held so many special memories for her. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and was always happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved most. She especially adored her great-granddaughter, Ainslee, who brought so much joy to her heart. She loved shopping, cooking big meals for everyone, and making sure no one ever left her table hungry. Some of our most treasured memories will be the many long weekends spent together at the campground—simple moments that became lifelong memories because we were all together. She was more than just a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the heart of our family, the one who brought us together, loved us unconditionally, and made every gathering feel like home. Her absence will leave a space that can never be filled. We will miss her more than words can express, but we will carry her love, laughter, lessons, and memories with us forever. Mom / Nan , you were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will forever remain in our hearts. Until we meet again. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rich Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday
