Hansel Russell Brown, 81, of Chillicothe, passed at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Signature Healthcare of Chillicothe following a short illness.

He was born April 29, 1940, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Thurman and Mona Hatfield Brown.  On July 28, 1962, he married the former Mary Lou Kegley who died November 13, 2003.

Surviving are children, Darci (Brad) Leckey, of Kershaw, South Carolina, Ken Brown, of Peru, IN and Trina (Thurman) Cantrell, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Samantha (Scott) Upton, Tyler Brown, RJ (Heather) Kallner, Clayton Brown, Austin Cantrill and Destiny Cantrill; great grandchildren, Arcadia Kallner and Robert Kallner; a sister, Linda Daniels, of Circleville; brothers Carroll "CB" (Beverly) Brown, of Kentucky and Charles "Chuck" (Kris) Brown, of Mt. Gilead, OH; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his beloved dog, Chewey.  He was predeceased by his brother, Norman Tinsley Brown.

Russell was a Supervisor at Regis Papermill in Marion, IN and had also worked as a Truck Driver for First Fleet.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with his daughter, Darci Leckey, officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
