Helen W. Polen, 103, of Chillicothe, passed 8:50 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 in National Church Residences, Chillicothe.

She was born August 31, 1919, in Ross County, to the late John and Pennoky Edna Davis Wood.  On March 30, 1938, she married Fred B. Polen who passed December 18, 1984.

Surviving are a son, John A. (Audrey) Polen, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Steve (Laurie) Harper, Angee Acquista and Victor (Rebecca) Polen; 9 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Jan (Polen) Harper; a grandson, Joe M. Polen; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Helen was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church and a 75 year member of the Rebecka Lodge.  She was a former employee of J.C. Penny.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Therese Lehman officiating.   There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
