Helen M. Sutherland, 85, of Chillicothe, passed 4:15 a.m. Monday, January 1, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born February 20, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Carl and Marie Sherrick Magill.

Surviving are daughters, Carol (Arthur Jr.) Whitcomb and Cathy (John) Massie, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Kelly (Eric) Young, Maria (Jacob) Woodfork, Shawn Sutherland, Brian Massie and Brittany (T.J.) Reinsmith; great grandchildren, Austin, Cami, Raeley, Cody, Misha, Joshlynn, Alayna, Leigha, Ashlynn and Layla; great great grandchildren, Novie, Thoren, Everlee, Hudson, Psydelia and Hallie; a sister, Vickie Moss, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by former husband, Buster Sutherland; great grandchildren, Caleb and Lacey Sutherland; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Helen was a former member of the First Freewill Baptist Church and was a former employee of the Ohio Motel.  Helen loved to play games with her family.  She also loved playing bingo and eating at Golden Coral.

A memorial graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell Salyers officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
