Howard E. Wolfe, 85, of Lancaster, passed at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in Embassy of Valley View following a yearlong illness.

He was born September 20, 1940, in Logan, Ohio, to the late Pete Wolfe and Mary L. Brinegar Wolfe.

Surviving are a daughter, Kelly L. Pettet; a son, Thomas E. (fiancée, Catherine Crowe) Wolfe; grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Griffith, of Lancaster and Curtissey Smith, of Lancaster; great grandchildren, Anthony Griffith, Ian Griffith and Joshua Griffith, all of Lancaster; a sister, Carla (Steve) Sherman, of South Carolina and Billie Clark, of Logan, OH; a brother, Mike Brinegar, of Texas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends at Pleasant View Place in Lancaster, Ohio. In addition to his father, Pete Wolfe and mother, Mary L. Brinegar, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Wolfe.

Howard served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
