Jessie A. Purnell, 100, of Londonderry passed on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Signature Healthcare.

She was born June 21, 1923 in Sandy Hook, KY to the late Robert and Lula (Skaggs) Whisman.  On November 13, 1942 she married Boone Purnell who preceded her in death on November 9, 2002.

Surviving are children, Kenneth Purnell of Londonderry, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and David Fisette of South Bend, IN, Linda Purnell of Chillicothe,  son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Terry Purnell of Londonderry; son; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Tootsie (Jess) Jenkins of Sandy Hook, KY, Delma (Leo) Simmons of  Memphis, MI and Jewell Maccagnone of McComb, MI; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, , 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Jessie was a retired beautician.  She became a caregiver who would do anything for anyone.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Reverend Jim McFadden officiating.   Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  Friends and family may call from 12 noon until the start of the service on Wednesday.
