Jimmy Owen Hill, 81, of Chillicothe went home to the Lord peacefully at 11:57 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his wife, three kids and dog, Major, following an extended illness.

He was born July 16, 1942, in Frankfort, Ohio, to the late Owen and Charlotte Vest Hill.  On June 11, 1968, he married the former Carol Burns who survives.

Also surviving are children, Jamie (Brian) McCann, of Chillicothe, Omer Jason Hill, of Chillicothe, Heather (Jamie) Bryans, of Chillicothe; grandsons, Nathan Hill, Ryan Hill, Cody Bost, Cole Hill and Leeum Bryans; great grandchildren, Connor Hill, Andi Hill, Owen Hill, Klayson Hartzell, Braeleigh Cousins, and Draevyn Hill; a sister, Shirley Young, of Utica; a niece, Kim (Mike) Parker Barry, of Utica; a nephew, Chris Jenkins, of Greenfield; a sister-in-law, Janet Trego, of Chillicothe; and a brother-in-law, Robert Burns, of Chillicothe.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Melody Ann Hill and a sister, Mary Jenkins.

Jimmy was a graduate of Frankfort High School.  He served in the United States Army, worked on his parent's farm, and retired from DuPont in Circleville, Ohio.  His family was everything to him.  He was a devoted husband, an incredible dad and grandpa who was involved in everything his grandkids did, especially sports.  Jimmy loved the Lord and served Him well.  He loved driving the church van and dedicating his time to the church.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 in Jefferson Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Ohio where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Visitation for family and friends will be held in the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
