Joanne Pratt Gray, 92, of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Jupiter, Florida and Chillicothe, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at The Discovery Village of Stuart.

Joanne was born February 3, 1931 at the family farm in Roxabel, Ohio to the late Horace Lind and Mary (Haney) Pratt.  On October 24, 1954 she married James McVey Gray at Concord Presbyterian Church in Frankfort, Ohio.  James preceded her in death on April 15, 1991.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Mary Gray Andries and son-in-law Gregory Charles Andries, of Stuart, FL; granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Andries, of Charlotte, N.C.; niece, Grethel and nephews, Joe, Lind and Mike.  She was predeceased by eldest brother and sister-in-law Richard (June) Pratt and by her twin brother and sister-in-law Joseph W. (Patricia) Pratt.

Joanne was a graduate of the Frankfort High School class of 1949.  She was employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation where she met the love of her life, James. Joanne was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chillicothe and a member of the Chillicothe Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.  Joanne loved spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing (decorated dish towels were her specialty), word games, eating out and shopping.  Joanne was always on the move taking friends on outings and was the life of the party.  Growing up on a farm she was an animal lover and had a special love for her family's dogs, Mango and Tango.  Joanne was spunky even in her later years and will be missed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation for the love and support of the staff at The Discovery Village of Stuart where Joanne had lived for the last 4 years.  In addition, special thanks to Treasure Coast Hospice for their comfort and support during her final weeks.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. James W. Grove officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Ohio.  Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
