John M. Easter, 82, of Chillicothe passed 10:25 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born November 1, 1943 in Ross County, at home, to the late Samuel and Ella Mae Skaggs Easter.  On November 25, 1967, he married the former Karen R. Haubeil who passed July 20, 2022.

Surviving are daughter, Sherri (Russell) Lambert; grandchildren, Candy (Chelsea) Fox, Brandica Blake and Taylor Lambert; great grandchildren, Damian, Kerry and Raven; nieces, Rita Haubeil, Sara Easter and Jackie Irvin; nephews, Kyle (Robbie) Efaw, Brian (Rachel) Efaw, Doug Haubeil, Sam (Jennifer) Easter, Joe (Heather) Easter and Terry (Robin) Easter; and a sister-in-law, Maggie Easter.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Larry Easter and Terry Easter.

John graduated from Southeastern High School and enlisted in the United States Army.  He proudly served during the Vietnam War as a SP5 from June 13, 1963 to June 10, 1966.  He retired from the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Chillicothe where he had worked for many years.  John was a proud member of American Legion Post 62, VFW Post 4, AMVETS Post 108 and F.O.E. Arie 600.

A military graveside service, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026 in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday evening or from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning prior to the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family.
