John H. Easterday, 62, of Chillicothe passed 3:54 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at his home.

He was born March 11, 1964 in Ross County to the late Roger D. and Mary V. Wells Easterday.

Surviving are son, Chad (Carissa) Easterday; brother, Roger W. Easterday; sisters, Penny (Tom Colvin) Easterday, Robin A. Vickers and Chessalee (Wilbur) Griffie, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews he loved dearly; long time friend, Vicki Lanman, of Chillicothe.

John worked for Chillicothe Gazette and Rocal.

The family would like to extend a Thank You to the National Church Residence Hospice Team, and a special Thank You to Aaron Hines, Lindsey Mowry and Sarah Neal.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home, 121 W. 2nd St, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Huntington Township Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangement are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
