Joseph E. Detty, 90, of Londonderry went home to heaven at 4:21 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2026 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 28, 1936 at home in Chillicothe to the late William L. and Edna H. Ray Detty. On January 10, 1959 he married Fern E. Fairchild who preceded him October 3, 2021.

Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Detty; a daughter, Robin (Jason) Willis, both of Richmond Dale; grandchildren, Chaz (Samantha) Willis, Breanna (Dylan) Luzader and Brittany Willis; great grandchildren, Audrina Montgomery, Eliza Willis, Rosalyn, Colton and Alexander Luzader; sisters-in-law, Ruth Cole, Carolyn (Neil) Swepston, Donna Fairchild and Georganna Fairchild and brother-in-law, Garry Fairchild. He was predeceased by brothers, Bob Graves, Vance Detty, James Detty, Ralph Detty, Benton Detty and infant brother, Charles Detty; sisters, Kathryn Edwards and Ann Kight

Joseph was a beloved member of Richmond Dale Church of God. He retired from the Mead Corporation and was a member of UPIU Local 731. He was a veteran of the United State Army, 11th Airborne during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Richmond Dale Church of God with Pastors John Evans, Sr. and John Evans, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the WARE FUNERANL HOME.
