Judith Porter, 89, of Frankfort, formerly of Auxier, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully, at 3:22 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Valley View Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born July 3, 1935, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to the late William Troy and Irma Mae Marshall McKenzie. On July 31, 1951, she married Noah M. Porter, Jr. who passed May 17, 2004.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Michael Yates, of Frankfort; sons and a daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Brenda Porter and Thomas Porter, both of Chillicothe; daughter-in-law, Linda Porter, of Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Oscar "Tom") Thompson, of Pikeville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Bobby T. Porter and brothers, William McKenzie and Robert McKenzie.
Judith was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was the matriarch of the Porter family. Judy loved her family dearly and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the entire staff at Valley View Care Center of Frankfort, especially her granddaughter and STNA, Katy and her nurse Vickie, for the wonderful care given to Judy and compassion shown to our family during this time.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024 in Springbank Cemetery with Pastor Tony Lambert officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
