Obituary

Kathryn Clark passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at her home following an extended illness.

Born on October 1, 1943, in Ross County, Ohio, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Jessie F. (Anders) Wunsch. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patsy L. Wunsch, Mary E. Cook, and Josephine “Joie” Hatton and a sister-in-law, Debbie (Tom) Cash.

Kathryn is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Larry Clark; her daughter, Mary Clark of Southport, North Carolina; her son, John (Jennifer) Clark of Chillicothe, Ohio; her brother, Steve (Linda) Wunsch of Stoutsville, Ohio; her grandsons, Brandon DePugh of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Jeremy (Ericka) DePugh of Wheelersburg, Ohio; her granddaughter, Samantha Clark; several great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Albert (Deb) Clark, of Chillicothe; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Lawrence) Butler, of Chillicothe; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Kathryn attended Centralia High School and worked for E.M. Smith Jewelers for many years, where she was known for her dedication and warm personality.

Kat enjoyed spending time as an avid gardener with her flowers and backyard koi pond. She loved gathering people together for card games, holiday baking, fish fries and picnics. Family traditions, including beach vacations, holiday celebrations, home-cooked meals, and cruise adventures, brought her great joy.

Kat never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone she encountered. She especially looked forward to the Christmas season & shopping trips with her daughter and sisters. Above all, she treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, taking every opportunity to be part of their lives.

Kat’s love for her family, her generosity, and her joyful spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Kevin Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
