Keiko Scaggs 83 of Chillicothe passed away peacefully at 1:15 a.m. on Thursday June 15, 2023 in Smith's Mill Health Campus New Albany, OH following an extended illness.

She was born June 28, 1939 in Fukuoka, Japan to the late Kyozo and Kuma Toda.  On January 11, 1966 she married Ernest "Ernie" Scaggs who proceeded her in death on October 29, 2008.

Surviving are a son, William "Bill" Scaggs of Chillicothe and daughters Linda Coy of Frankfort and Lori Scaggs (Ron Guysinger Jr) of Chillicothe, daughter-in-law Jamie Scaggs of Reynoldsburg. Grandchildren, Misty Scaggs, Tabitha Scaggs (Mike), Brad Scaggs (Kaylee), Colton Scaggs of Chillicothe, Matthew Coy (Jeannie), Nancy Cox (Danny) of Frankfort, Jeff Amos, Sean Scaggs, Sarah Scaggs all of Reynoldsburg, Ashley Scaggs (Corvaun) of Columbus, Courtney Potts (Chris) of Chillicothe, Amy Payne (Austin) of Columbus; 14 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ryoichi (Ayaichi) Toda, Shizuo (Miwako) Toda, sister-in-law Yoko Toda all of Japan, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law David (Joanne) Scaggs of Cincinnati; several nieces, nephews and friends including her best friend, Kayoko Moran of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by a son Edward "Ed" Scaggs and brother Yasuo Toda.

The family would like to extend a "Thank You" to the staff of Smith's Mill and ProMedica Hospice for the loving care given to Keiko and the compassion shown to our family during this time.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday June 26, 2023 at Ware Funeral Home with Tina Haller officiating.  A private burial will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens at the convenience of the family.
