Larry A. Detty, 87, of Chillicothe, passed 2:10 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born September 10, 1936 in Londonderry, Ohio, to the late Howard and Gladys Fouty Detty.  On December 12, 1959, he married the former Nancy Davis who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son Doug (Trisha) Detty, of Chillicothe; a granddaughter, Kara Jo (John) Miller, of Lebanon, OH; a sister, Roslyn (Harry) Benson, of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Detty; sisters, Thelma Everhart, Verna Fry, Gilberta Detty, Willa Miller; brothers, Delbert Detty, Willard Detty, Ralph Detty, David Detty and Maynard Detty.

In 1999, Larry retired from CCI where he had worked for 25 years.  Larry was an avid softball player and hunter.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Bruce Hines officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
