Larry J. Payne, 71, of Londonderry, passed at 5:17 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born November 10, 1952, in Roanoke, VA, to the late Dorothy Geraldine Payne.  On November 25, 2001, he married the former Rita Cooper who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are children, Shane (Rhonda) Payne, of Dayton, Heather (David) Imerson, of Canada, Dottie (Frank) Congrove, of Chillicothe, Lee Leeson, of Chillicothe, Kevin Leeson, of Chillicothe and Christy (Joey Lindsey) Leeson, of Chillicothe; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Zoey, whom he helped raise; brothers, Jerry Payne, of Waverly and David A. (Karen) Payne, of Lebanon; sisters, Nancy A. (Todd) Poling, of Laurelville and Martha L. "Lynn" (Brad) Allen, of Venice, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was a forklift operator at PPG in Chillicothe.  He attended Tick Ridge Church.  Larry was an avid hunter.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
