Leroy Neal Merriman, 87, of Londonderry, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at his home following a short illness.

He was born July 11, 1936 in Ross County to the late Roy and Mabel (Blaum) Merriman.  On January 31, 1959 he married Carroll Ann Heintzelman, who survives.

Also surviving are children, Jennifer Shroyer of Colorado, Leslie Merriman-Barnes (Dale) of Gainesville, GA, Brian (Susan) Merriman of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Harley, Jazmine, Sunshine, Casey, Amy, Leah and Anita; numerous great grandchildren; nephews, Frank (Becky), John (Brenda) and Mike (Kim) and niece, Kristina.  He was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Hayhurst and grandson, Jason Barnes.

Leroy was a retired inspector for the Ohio Department of Transportation.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.

The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Dr. Seidensticker and all of his medical team at  Adena Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Leroy and his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests,  memorial contributions be made to Adena Hospice 2077 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Charleston Church of the Brethren with Adena Hospice Chaplain Cameron Caseman officiating.
