Obituary

Lionel L. Beatty, 67, of Chillicothe, passed at 9:14 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following brief illness.

He was born September 16, 1956, in Ross County, to the late Thomas L. "Pete" and Patsy Louise Mason Beatty.

Surviving are children, Lynn (Jason) Johnson, of Hillard, Zachary A. Beatty, of Chillicothe, Brooke Beatty, of Chillicothe and Taylor A. Beatty, of Columbus; grandsons, Ethan and Gavin Johnson; a granddaughter, Adalyn Beatty; brothers and sisters, Pammy O'Leary, Nicholas (Kristine) Beatty, both of Chillicothe, Stewart "Randy" (Theresa) Beatty, of Thomson, GA, Mary "Kathy" (John) Frye, of Taunton, MA, Frank (Angelia) Beatty, of Chillicothe, Tina (Joe) Dohoney, of Louisville, KY and Melissa Luedeke, of Waverly; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin Thomas Beatty.

Lionel was a member of Faith Chapel and was a faithful servant of the Lord.  He was a retired contractor with Beatty General Contracting.  Lionel enjoyed reading and sharing scripture and playing the piano.  He was an avid chess player and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 in Faith Chapel, 12913 Pleasant Valley Road Chillicothe, Ohio 45601, with Pastor Tom Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.  Friends may call at Faith Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and/or one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Chapel, c/o Tom Kramer, 210 S. Market Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690.
