Louis L. Skaggs, 90, of Chillicothe, Ohio passed at 2:07 a.m. Sunday, June 9th, 2024, following a brief illness.
He was born July 26, 1933, in Ross County, to the late Sylvia D. Tudor and William P. Skaggs. He was married on June 9th, 1987 to the Love of his Life, Ann (Richards) Skaggs. They had 37 years of marital bliss. He passed on their 37th anniversary.
He leaves behind children; Diedre (Chris) Carroll, Laurinda Watkins, Robert Louis (Rob), Allen (Tim) Skaggs and Erin (Teresa) Rinehart; grandchildren; Brooke, Bryten, Rachel, Wren, Kyla, Leo J. (L J), Enzo, Kristen, Cameron, Seth, and Emily Ann and Olivia Jo; several great grandchildren; brothers; David Skaggs, Kenny Skaggs and Wayne (Dianna) Skaggs, and sisters, Nancy (Dale) Rhodes, Joy (Bryan) Martin, and Maxine (Calvin) Cochenour. He was predeceased by daughters; Kimberly Skaggs-Underwood and Orpha Rinehart; a brother, Keith Skaggs; sisters; Rosemary Harrison, Barbara Wilcox and Elaine Long; and father and step mother, William P. and Ruby Skaggs.
Lou loved writing and was working on a book. He was a world traveler and became a Snow Bird in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. He made a lot of great friends wherever he went.
Lou was employed by Mead Paper Company as a Journeyman Machinist, retiring in January 1995. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 62 and a life member of AMVETS Post 4. Lou enjoyed the outdoors, sightseeing, visiting old places and learning about history. He was known for his thoughtfulness and kindness to others.
He gave his Heart to God on May 28, 2024. He will be waiting in Heaven for his loved ones to join him. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dennis Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Sunday.
