Margaret Lucille Gilbert Rickey, 80, of Chillicothe, went into the arms of the Lord on June 6, 2024 surrounded by her family at Logan Elm Health Care.
She was born January 13, 1944, in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Boyer Gilbert. On June 18, 1961, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Allen Rickey who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Kevin(Karen) Rickey, Scott (Gayla) Rickey and Mark (Krista "Lynn") Rickey; grandchildren, Vannessa (Derek) Smith, Christopher Rickey, Emily (Jake) Binkley, Elana (Jonathon) Matthews, Paige Rickey (Fiance, Jesse Baxter) and Carson Rickey; great grandchildren, Wyatt Smith, Weston Smith, Lynnlee Binkley, Zoey Matthews, Natalie Matthews and Josie Matthews; a sister, Alice Carver (Rick Gautier); a brother-in-law, Gale (Sharon) Rickey; sisters-in-law, Melba Rickey and Jeannette Rickey; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Gilbert; mother and step father, Hazel and Tom Brison; an infant daughter, Marcia Elaine Rickey; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Wendell Cremeans; a brother, Robert Gilbert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilbur and Blanche Rickey; a brother-in-law, Raymond Rickey; a sister-in-law, Shirley "Pat" Bell and her husband N. Dwight "Junior" Bell.
Margaret never met a stranger. You may remember her from the various jobs she had held. Margaret worked at or for Lawson Dairy, JC Penny, Gloria Marshall, Orchid Figure Salon, Easy Tone Figure Salon, for many years she was a BeautiControl Consultant, she sold Avon, Park Lane Jewelry and Rubber Maid. She also did Grocery Store Demo's. Most recently, she worked as Senior Beauty Advisor at Bridge Street Walgreens retiring in 2014.
Margaret loved trimming trees and bushes and burning brush. She loved Gospel Concerts and attended many churches especially her home church on Wilson Run Road. Margaret also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and cooking food for her family and friends. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Logan Elm Health Care in Circleville for their loving care of Margaret as she battled Alzheimer's.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Brother Ralph Cyrus officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
