Marian R. Snyder, 92, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born August 13, 1932, in Ross County, to the late Herbert and Allie Britton Richter. On March 16, 1952, she married Glenn Snyder who survives.
Also surviving are sons, Donald (Donna) Snyder, of Chillicothe and Lee (Angie) Snyder, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Jason Snyder, Jeff (Zoe) Snyder, Kristin (Seth) Dawes, Kellcie, Brittney (Jake) Garringer and Brooke (Taylor) Tackett; great grandchildren, Emily Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Calli Jo Tackett, Bo Lee Garringer, Camden Dawes, Lainey Dawes, Emma "Lil Tornado" Tackett, Lilah Dawes and Baby G due to arrive April 1st; a sister-in-law, Clara Richter, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews, including, Dannie, Dean and Derek Cartee, Peggy Richter Corya, John Richter, Bryan David Richter and Michael Richter; and a special childhood lifelong friend, Norma "Tommy" Gillfillan who she made many mudpies with growing up in Mooresville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Richter; a sister, Judith Richter Cartee; and a grandson, Andrew Snyder.
Marian was a 1949 graduate of Adelphi Harrison High School where she was co-valedictorian of her graduating class. She was a member of Charleston Church of the Brethren Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Marian worked as a Secretary at Farm Bureau Insurance in Columbus, the Division of Forestry in Chillicothe, WearEver Alcoa, and Pickaway-Ross Vocational School where she retired in 1994.
Marian was a devoted wife and mother and dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved spending time watching them swim in the pool. Marian was a lifetime SE Panther, Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Harrison Township EMS - 7489 Charleston Pike - Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
