Maxine Kempton, 80, of Chillicothe passed 4:12 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born April 23, 1943, in Bancroft, WV, to the late Fred and Goldie Simmons Hill.  On April 6, 1985, she married Robert E. Kempton who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Jeffrey (Amanda) Winters, of San Diego, CA and David Winters, of Tampa, FL; a daughter, Tammy Ball, of Hillsboro, OH; a stepson, Jerry (Annie) Kempton, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Sarah, Raven, Brittany, Casey, Cory, Zack, Issac, Gloria, Lyddian, Hannah and Raelena; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 7 siblings.

Maxine was a 1964 graduate of CHS High School.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Evelyn Mitchell Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
