Michael E. Proehl, 72, of Chillicothe, passed at 8:38 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born February 15, 1951, in Chillicothe, to the late Paul R. and Phyllis A. Cooper Proehl.  On June 10, 1972, he married the former Sharon L. Irvin who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Dustin (Holly E.) Proehl, of Chillicothe; a daughter, Stacey (Stephen) Hart, of Piketon; grandchildren, Alexis Hart, Brooklynn Hart, Hope Proehl and Faith Proehl; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his dog, Molly.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Grace; sisters, Janet Proehl and Carolyn Proehl; and a brother, David Proehl.

Mike retired in 2014 from Kenworth where he had worked for 36 years.

A private funeral service was held for family in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Scott Judge officiating.  Burial followed the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe.
