Miles M. Burns passed away at 5:55 a.m. on June 19, 2024 at home.  He was 88 years old.

He was the son of Chester D. and Lola Beatty Burns.

Miles married Shirley Vititoe on September 4, 1954.  They had three children, a daughter, Mila Bennett (Kenneth) and two sons, Ricky Lee Burns (Lora) and Brian K. Burns (Katie); eight grandchildren, Glen B. Burgess, Brandon C. Burns, Jaran and Brady Burns, Lauren Burns (Wolf), Chris D. Dove, Jr., Chriscia Dove and Brennan Dove.

Miles worked for WJ Grow & Sons, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Goodyear, Atomic Plant and retired from Mead Paper after 37 years.  He was past president of Local 731 Union, member of Apple City Motorcycle Club and Capital City Motorcycle Club.  Miles designed the patch for both clubs.  He was also a member of the AM Vets.

He is survived by his daughter, one son, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister, Shelba Brown (Bob).    He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Russell, and son, Ricky.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Phil Crabtree officiating.  Military graveside rites will be given by AMVETS Post 2256.
