Nancy Irene Mitchell, 53, of Chillicothe, passed at 2:39 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Ohio Health Doctors Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness.

She was born September 17, 1970, in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Nancy is survived by sons, Dustin (Beth) Welch, of Chillicothe, Brandon (Jadelynn) Newsome, of Chillicothe and Glen Mitchell II, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Alexis Welch, Lydia Welch and Allison Hallowell; sisters, Patricia (Aaron) Kennedy, of Chillicothe and Katherine (Patrick) Shaw, of New Straitsville; companion, Jeremy Lowe, of Chillicothe; friends of her son whom she considered her own, Ralph D. Hawk and Jacob Zamora, both of Chillicothe; an aunt, Nancy Blazer; and several nieces and nephews, including Lena Garrett and Scotlynn Gustin.  She was predeceased by her mom and dad, Mabel and John O'Carroll; father, William Short; an aunt, Karen Justice; and uncle Pearl Blazer.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe, with Pastor David Welch officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
