"Dolly" Glandon Henderson

Norma Jean "Dolly" Glandon Henderson, 89, of Ray passed, with her loving family and friends by her side, at 2:01 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born May 18, 1936 in Vinton County, to the late Walter Owen and Bernice C. Teeters Glandon. On July 18, 1953, she married the love of her life, Elmer O. Henderson, who passed October 15, 2022. They were married in Lawrenceburg, IN and were married, until death do us part, for 69 years. Now they are reunited in Heaven for eternal life.
Also surviving are children, Daniel (Beth) Henderson, Terry (Paula) Henderson, both of Ray, Debbie (Jerry) Albright, of South Bloomingville; grandchildren, Chad (Jill) Henderson, Heath (Shirley) Henderson, Nathan (Casey) Henderson, Nicholas (Saunia) Henderson, Angela (Chad) Hafner, Jerrod (Tannya Williams) Albright, and Jordan (Alayna McClung) Albright; great grandchildren, Calli, Abby, Reed, Colton, Austin, Wyatt, and Lexi Henderson, and Michael and Matthew Hafner; several step-great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Baxter and Judy (Don) Olley; brothers, Rodger Glandon and Ovid "Doc" Glandon; a sister-in-law, Judith Glandon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Steve Henderson and Paul Henderson; a daughter, Cheryl Henderson; a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Earl Ray; brothers and sisters-in-law, Estel "Bub" and Donna Glandon, Robert and Janice Glandon, Ronald and Pat Glandon, Larry "Jim" Glandon; and sister-in-laws, Jo Glandon and Elsie Glandon.
Norma was a lifetime member of Antioch Christian Union Church "Kelly" where she had been a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader.
Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her whole life to her family and loved them dearly. She was a devoted caregiver to her youngest son, Paul, for over 30 years after he became totally disabled at 5 years old.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Pat Fetherolf, Melody Dillie, Onnesty Kight, Wilma Mathews and Jim Largent for the wonderful care given to our mother. Also, a special thank you to Roy Schroeder for being our "chauffer" and friend to appointments, errands and brightening the day for our travels, and to Nancy Kight, Mary Uhrig, Emmitt and Brenda Long.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev Brett Smith and Pastor Jason Kight officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 12 Noon until 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Sunday.
