Obituary

Ora A. "Wimp" Davis, 92, passed on June 3rd , 2024, he can now join the love of his life and late wife of 61 years, Laura May "Toot" Davis, who preceded him in death in December 2019.  Ora was born November 25. 1931 in Ross County the son of Ralph E. and Helen I, Hammond Davis both deceased, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Laura Belle Seifert, Connie Climer and Sue Wickline; brother, Harold "Cork" Davis; daughter, Brenda Oldenburg; and grandson, Brian Oldenburg.  He is survived by son, Stephen and Carolyn "Corky" Davis; grandson, Stephen Chad Thomas Davis and Janie Young, Jon Lee and Amanda Miller; great grandchildren, Makenna Young, Grayson Miller and Campbell Miller.

Surviving sisters, Lois and William Good, Hilda and Bernard Dearth; brother-in-law, Dan Seifert; sister-in-law, Patty Rinehart; and special friend, Stacia Bauman.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Ohio Health Hospice.

Ora was retired from E.I. DuPont, after high school he served in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean War he was stationed in Japan.  He was a life member of Amvets Post 2256, American Legion 134 and Masonic Lodge 23.  Ora loved to fish and went on many fishing trips to Michigan and Canada.  He came from a family of many aunts, uncles and cousins, and grew up in Pinhook where he ran the hollers of Sugar Tree, Snake Holler and Scioto Trails.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 142 Honor Guard.  Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.   We will have a time of remembrance with food and fellowship at a later date.
