Paul A. "Grunt" Saunders, 62, of Chillicothe, passed 12:57 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born April 22, 1960, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to James "Fred" and Linda Gardiner Saunders.  On April 25, 1992, he married the former Cheryl J. Dennewitz who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are his mother, Linda Saunders, of Chillicothe; children, Joshua (Carrie Clogg) Barlage, of Clive, IA and Briana (Scott Oyer) Osborne, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Trent Lyons, Samuel Barlage and Charles Barlage; brothers, James (Mary) Saunders and Brian Saunders; a sister, Brenda (Billy) Saunders, all of Chillicothe; a niece, Jennifer (Dustin) Cottrill; a nephew, Dustin (Reeanna) Hougland; a great niece, Charlie Cottrill; a great nephew, Tate Cottrill; and life long friends, Jay Bethel and Ed Tuvell.  He was predeceased by his father, James "Fred" Saunders.

Paul worked as an Industrial Insulator for Williams Global.

Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Welch officiating.  Friend may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family at a later date.
