Obituary

Philip L. Seymour, 85, of Chillicothe, passed peacefully at 8:43 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026 in Chillicothe Post Acute.

He was born November 2, 1940, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Philip H. and Dorothy R. Esker Seymour.  On September 16, 1979, he married the former Kathy Ann Booth who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Tammy Sue (David) James, Tracey Lynn (Jeffrey) Creed and Theresa Fisher;  grandchildren, Joshua (Lila) Hammond, Nicole (Dana) Bullock, Travis (Kristen) Fisher, Kaitie (Zach) Baker, Derek Robertson, Austin James, Kara Creed, Jessica (Alex) Vandemark and Caleb (Kayla) Creed; great grandchildren, Quinn, Miles, Maya, Emma, Kendall, Gavin, Charlie, Zoe, Alexis, Mason, Matthew, Allison, Jaxson and Layken; a brother, Donnie (Sherry) Seymour; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Booth.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Seymour.

Philip served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era.  He retired from the Budd Company, Frankfort, Ohio.  Philip had also worked at the Chillicothe Country Club as a Caddy and Bartender for many years.  He was an avid sports fan and loved to golf and bowl.  Philip loved his family and his faithful companions, his dogs, Grizzly and Poppy.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff of NCR Hospice for the wonderful care given to Phil and compassion shown to our family during his illness.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Hines officiating.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  Family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the graveside service on Friday.
