Robert Alan Blue, 87, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born October 21, 1936, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late Helen Poston Blue.  On April 3, 1965, he married Lois Jean Hartsough who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are children, Sheila (Richard) Blue-Moore, Douglas (Teresa) Blue and Carol Kyle, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Alan Blue, Bethany (Justin) Blue-Chaney and James Kyle; a great grandson, Rylan Chaney; a brother, Steven (Jane) Blue, of Paducah, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a 1954 graduate of Chillicothe High School.  He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University.  Bob served in the United States Air Force Reserves.  He enjoyed a lifelong career operating his family's farms.  He was a longtime HAM Radio Operator, call sign W8LXJ.  Bob was a member of Ross Ohio Radio Kontrol Society (RORKS), Civil Air Patrol, Ross County Farmers Club, Scioto Valley Amateur Radio Club and was a longtime airplane pilot. He enjoyed meeting and talking with people and always had a story to share.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Andersonville Community Church, 1249 Andersonville Road, Chillicothe, Ohio.  Visitation for family and friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
