Robert N. Shoemaker, Sr.

Robert N. Shoemaker, Sr., 74, of Chillicothe, passed at 1:57 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness.

He was born September 18, 1951, in Chillicothe, to Gene Ward and Patricia Acord Shoemaker. Robert was raised by Roy and Patricia Shoemaker. On October 20, 1973, he married Martha A. Bushatz who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are his mother, Patricia Shoemaker, of Chillicothe; children, Robert Shoemaker, Jr., of Chillicothe, Donald (Renee) Shoemaker, of Chillicothe, Michael (Bethanie) Shoemaker, of Chillicothe, Jason (Tifany) Shoemaker, of Waverly; grandchildren, Quentin, Lilia, Anji, Mason, Maddie, Alan, Ashley, Mikey, Tyler, Makayla, Blake, Charleigh, Jason, Joshua, Jayla; great grandchildren, Braxton, Jayce and Jazmina; a sister, Gina (Jeff) Parks, of Chillicothe; a special daughter-in-law, Eve Shoemaker, of Hillsboro; and many nieces and nephews, including, Sam and Little Larry Young. He was predeceased by his father, Roy Shoemaker; a sister, Nancy Ward; and biological father, Gene Ward.

Robert retired from Signature Healthcare where he worked as a maintenance man.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Sam Young officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
