Roger W. Smith, 72, of Chillicothe, passed 5:10 p.m., July 5, 2023 at the V.A. Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born June 9, 1951 in Fayette County to the late Robert and Laura Mae (Yahn) Smith.

Surviving are step-children, Travis (Tina) Wheeler of Clarksburg Angie (Bill) McCatherine of Waverly, Tammy (Troy) Wilkinson of Genoa and Lori (John) Young, of Spenerville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Ellen Goble of Greenfield; former wife, Carolyn Smith of Frankfort.  He was predeceased by sisters, Ann Briggs and Elaine Smith.

Roger served his country in the U.S. Army.

There will be no public services at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
