Ruby M. Beekman, 91, of Chillicothe, passed at 8:45 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born August 5, 1932, in Cabell County, WV, to the late Homer and Lucille Knight Bowman.  Ruby was married to the late Wilbur Johnson and to the late Donald Beekman.

Surviving are Rodney (Pam) Johnson, of Waverly, Randy (Paula Chapman) Johnson, of Waverly, Kathy (Jerry) Grabill, of Frankfort, Beverly (Richard) Crabtree, of Chillicothe and Lesa (Mike) Rachford, of South Salem; 20 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Pierce and Helen Lott, both of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Davis.

Ruby attended Jefferson Avenue CCCU.  She retired from Pike County Health Department.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Denver Road, Waverly, Ohio.  Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
