Sharon E. Ott, 85, of Chillicothe, passed at 9:17 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born July 16, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Lee and Opal Massie Hafer.  On June 11, 1960, she married Walter J. Ott who passed on February 11, 2013.

Surviving are a son, David L. (Susan) Ott, of Chillicothe; a granddaughter, Jessica (Lane) Smith, of Chillicothe; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Herald, of Reynoldsburg, Janet Ott, of Delaware, Mary Ann Dixon, of Chagrin Falls and Barbara (Isador "Izzy") Fleischer, of Leland, NC; a brother-in-law, Lemuel (Kay) Ott, of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Timothy J. Ott; a brother, Wilbur "Pee Wee" Hafer; brothers-in-law, William Herald and Larry Dixon; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter J. and Mary Enderle Ott.

Sharon retired from the Chillicothe Telephone Company where she had worked for 40 years.  She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.  Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and would do anything for her family.  She had many friends, including Jodi Porter.  She and Jodi would frequently be seen riding around Chillicothe, sometimes in a golf cart.  Other lifelong friends were very important to her also, June Lovensheimer, Judy Abernathy, Mary Schachtel and Connie Carnes.  Sharon will be remembered as a kind, loving and generous person and will be greatly missed by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in St. Peter Church with Fr. Christopher Tuttle, Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.  There will be no public calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Vincent DePaul, St. Peter Chillicothe 285 W. Water Street Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
