Shawn L. Bivens, 62, of Chillicothe, passed at 7:46 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born December 30, 1961, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Richard and Betty Jane Johnson Bivens.  He married the former Verjeana A. Clifton who passed on July 27, 2004.

Surviving are his children, Shawna Bivens, of Chillicothe, Shawn Bivens II, of Chillicothe, Seth Bivens, of California, Aaron Bivens, of Jackson and Cassie Clifton, of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Greg Bivens, of Chillicothe and Oakley (Angie) Bivens, of Vinton County; sisters, Jennifer Shope, of Chillicothe and Beth Ann (Marlin Steffy) Hamlin, of Chillicothe; companion, Susie Moore, of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Michael K. Sommers, Jody Kimbler, Luther Sommers II and Cynthia Curtis; and a brother-in-law, Ray Kimbler.

A graveside service will be held 1:45 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 in Londonderry Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
